Welcome to Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn Cricket Club

Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn CC
Steve Pugh and Andy Meakin at Castell Alun CC (now sadly folded). NB: most of our players are a lot fitter, younger and better looking than these two.

Welcome to the Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn Cricket Club website, a combination of two teams, Mynydd Isa and Maeshafn. Maeshafn were based in the village of Maeshafn, Denbighshire, North Wales at the heart of the Clwydian Range and in an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB), near to Mold, Ruthin and Chester. Mynydd Isa are a very well established town team based close to Mold. The teams merged in 2019 and play as a completely new club in the Readers North Wales Cricket League.

We have players from 14 to 65 years+ turning out for us and across the full spectrum of ability – from ‘absolutely awful’ in some cases to ‘not bad at all’ (in 2019 we had a Canadian international playing!). We welcome new players of any age or ability level. Sport for All is at heart of our club ethos. You will get to play cricket as regularly as you want to if you join us.

For our up to date statistics, news and fixtures, please keep an eye on this website or the ECB Play Cricket website – link above.

  1. What a lovely day that was. Lucky Steve Pugh had brought his umbrella along as who knows how wet the scorebook would have got..
