Winter Nets

Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn CC winter nets are at the Argoed High School on the following dates:

  • Friday 10th January 2020 – 7.45-9.45pm
  • Friday 24th January 2020 – 7.45-9.45pm
  • Friday 7th February 2020 – 7.45-9.45pm
  • Friday 6th March 2020 – 7.45-9.45pm
  • Friday 20th March 2020 – 7.45-9.45pm

All welcome. Pay and play – very reasonable rates. You do not need to be a member of Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn CC to take part. Just turn up on the day and pay per session.

Never played before? Don’t worry – just turn up with a pair of trainers and have a go. We do net sessions for about 90 minutes before having a game of Kwik Cricket in the hall – its a soft ball and doesn’t hurt (too much).

Contrary to press reports in late 2019, Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn CC is very much still live and kicking! Come along to nets and check us out… Players wanted for the 2020 season – whether for a few games or a full season. Reasonable subs and a friendly team await..

Any enquiries please contact us.

Welcome to Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn Cricket Club

Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn CC
Steve Pugh and Andy Meakin at Castell Alun CC (now sadly folded). NB: most of our players are a lot fitter, younger and better looking than these two.

Welcome to the Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn Cricket Club website, a combination of two teams, Mynydd Isa and Maeshafn. Maeshafn were based in the village of Maeshafn, Denbighshire, North Wales at the heart of the Clwydian Range and in an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB), near to Mold, Ruthin and Chester. Mynydd Isa are a very well established town team based close to Mold. The teams merged in 2019 and play as a completely new club in the Readers North Wales Cricket League.

We have players from 18 years to 65 years+ turning out for us and across the full spectrum of ability – from ‘absolutely awful’ in some cases to ‘not bad at all’ (in 2019 we had a Canadian international turning out for us). We welcome new players of any age or ability level. Sport for All is at heart of our club ethos. You will get to play cricket as regularly as you want to if you join us.

For our up to date statistics, news and fixtures for 2021, please keep an eye on this website or the ECB Play Cricket website – link above.
