Celebrating Sanath Shetty – Outstanding Batsman and All Round Gentleman

Sanath Shetty

Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn Cricket Club have some pretty awful news. Our good friend and teammate Dr Sanath Shetty unexpectedly collapsed and died at home on the 5th November aged just 51 years old. Completely out of the blue and everyone at the club is in total shock. Sanath played 29 league games for our club over the past 6 years and has been involved with MIMCC in the background throughout. Sanath was one of the most laidback people on the field of play. A very kind man, with a great sense of humour and a quality cricketer. Very well known for his batting prowess whenever he played, as well as wicketkeeping and bowling. An all rounder on the field, but also in life – a genuinely lovely person.

He will be sorely missed by all at Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn CC. He formerly played for Northop Irregulars CC and may be remembered there as well.
