Looking to start playing cricket, return to playing cricket, or just continue playing cricket?
Mynydd Isa & Maeshafn CC may well be the place for you. We have all ages and abilities in our team, from the truly awful to the amazingly good. We just want to get as many people involved in playing the sport as possible. Bowlers, batsmen, specialist fielders and wicket keepers all welcome. Men or women of all ages welcome to play.
Although we only have one team, most of us play around 12 out of the 20 matches each year, which means there is plenty of space for anyone joining to play as many matches as they want to.
We promise the following:
- We have no crazy players in our team. You know the sort – turning up on a Saturday to relive all their frustrations in life and take it out on the umpire and the opposition. Think Joe Root without the talent – we play with a smile.
- No fielding at deep fine leg for 40 overs followed by a batting position of number 11. Everyone who turns up to play takes part.
- Friendly encouragement. You drop a catch off our fast bowler? No problem. Pick the ball up and try again next time. Our secretary has dropped nearly every ball that has ever been hit at him since 2005.
- Reasonable fees – playing cricket will not cost the earth.
